Hi Everyone,

Thanks to all who came to the first meeting of the 2013 - 2014 season.  It was good to see all of you.

ZOMBIE WALKABOUT

The first walkabout of the new season will be to the Zombie Walk Toronto parade, on Saturday October 26.  This is an annual event, which is apparently a lot of fun and has lots of photographic opportunities.  If you're interested in finding out more about this event before committing yourself to the walkabout you can go to the official Toronto zombie Walk website.

The Zombie Walk parade starts at 3:00 pm at Nathan Phillips Square which means that we don't have to be there until about 2:00 pm.

The plan is to meet at 12:30 pm at the Tim Horton's on Wellington (304 Wellington Street East), next to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic School, in Aurora.  Depending on the number of people who sign up we will take one or two cars and park at the Finch subway.  From there we'll just take the subway down to Nathan Phillips Square.  After getting our fill of zombie photos we can go out and get a bite to eat and then make our way home.  I would estimate that we can be back home by around 8:00 pm.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS WALKABOUT PLEASE VERIFY YOUR INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE BY REGISTERING HERE.  Be aware that you will not be able to see the signup form until you are logged into your account.

Be aware that  there is a chance that this walkabout may be canceled due to rain.  The weather forecast indicates that there will be rain on Saturday.  If it is a really awful rainy day and the walkabout needs to be canceled you can expect to get an email from me sometime around 11:00 am.  If you do not hear from me it means that the walkabout is on.

NOVEMBER MONTHLY CHALLENGE

The topic for November's Monthly Challenge is "Open", which means that you can submit photographs on anything and everything.  The only restriction is that you apply three (3) of the techniques from the Composition Basics PowerPoint presentation which I went over at the first meeting.  You can review the PowerPoint here, or you can get to it by going to the APL Camera Club website and looking under the Blogs pull down menu.

All the best.

Ronen
