Some Great Photos

You've got some really nice images here Rick. I really like the closeups of the Hillary House architecture as well as some of the shots you got of the vintage cars (the few that were there, in any event).
Harry Lumsden is a very interesting person and his commitment to the swan project is very admirable. It's incredible that he's managed to do so much in his back yard! It's truly a little oasis in the heart of Aurora. Again, you managed to take some very good images of the swans.
As far as Starbucks is concerned, I agree that their coffee could dissolve metal. I try to avoid the really strong stuff and order one of their specialty coffees which tend to be a bit more palatable.

You've got nice images- swan families, duckweeds, nice car troubles, bee house, a welcome fuelup...
Isnt Daisy Fleabane stinky flower? I think we had it in our front lawrn, brought them inside for nice decoration but the odor was so strong that I couldnt stand it more than a week. It made a nice bouquet with pink roses though. We chop them off but they are coming out again! lol

How are You Getting on with this protracted Heat Storm Ronen? the longest I recall!!!
I know why there were so few cars at this segment of Doors Open! They were all on Their way to Lindsay. I went to Lindsay on Sunday to take Mother out to see them all at Classics on Kent, I estimate that there were at least 200 classics on display, there were cars from Albert St. to Lindsay St. it was well worth the drive to Lindsay I wheeled Mom up though the whole event and back then We went for Lunch at the Olympia then I bid Mom Adieu and returned armed with three Canons the party was breaking up as it was technically over at three pm but it was still an interesting sight as cars were in many cases not just static subjects when in the act of bugging out, I have not gone though any of them but will post some images when I do get at this bunch!!!
Thanks as Always Ronen for Your Comments, comments are always appreciated and as well nice to get at the same time, I do like Your addition of the secondary notification of comments We will not miss another gallery critique as some have been missed for a length of time as they get buried in long comment trails, as well it puts out it in ones Face and is hard to ignore when it gets in the inbox.
Good to Have made it to this past Outing Not a bust by any means well other that that coffee, I am looking forward to seeing this part of the City that You seem to know some or lots about that I do not recall having explored or knowingly even beeen passing though, I will be signing up to join in on this Outing.
Cheers!!!
Rick
I replied to a Query from Joanne yesterday and it looks like She asked this a few weeks ago do You think it possible to add a forum were questions can be posted to that get broadcast to the Club on mass? it would guaranty a speedier reply turn around, Thanks Ronen

Hey Rick,
It sounds like the Lindsay vintage car display was outstanding. Too bad we missed out on it here in Aurora. Regardless, it was a fun day just getting together and getting whatever images we managed to get. With photography there are no guarantees; sometimes you come home with a whole bunch of great images and sometimes the pickings are slim. It's just the way it is.
The Roncesvalles and High Park neighborhood is very nice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and there's definitely lots of photographic opportunities there.
Adding a questions forum is a very good idea. And having the questions broadcast en masse to members is also an inspired thought. I'll look into it and see if it can be implemented.

High Park

Rick - You will love this part of Toronto. I lived there for a few years, and actual was the President of the Parkside Tennis Club. Lot's of "open air music" in the Park. I also curled at the Bouleward Club on Lakeside.
We used to to bike to Toronto front, and with a tennis racket and a bottle of wine, toke the boat to Toronto Island. High Park is a great place for single people, but apartments were always expensive.
Actual, that could be an outing for the Camera Club, as they island's has many interesting old cottages and images, but of-course it takes time to get over there.
Regards,
Jytte

So many beautiful pictures you toke. I am wondering if you are from Lindsay? I have spend many wonderful hours up around there. I lived at a lake near Coboconk called Shadow lake, and enjoyed all they canoe trips and hiking that this area has to offer.

Lindsay!!!

Hello Jytte
Lindsay was a place that I have come to Admire and feel Sad for over the 30+ years I have been going over that way, My Mom was born on Burnt River and at 7 was moved to Lindsay and along the way meet My Dad who was an Engineer for the CNR and they moved to Caledon the 3rd line and the tenth concession then after many moves as kids Mom and Dad had enough of each other and Mom moved with the two Girls back to Lindsay and has been there for the most part ever since and all the Family type holidays are attended by all stiil to this day, and Well Mom is in the Manor now but this makes for a lot of trips to that Town over the years, I say Admire and Sad about the Town it relates to the amount of Architecture in that town that belies it present state and sad for what was there and gone from the Town it had a rich Railway History and was an important rail center and had 50 miles of track laid in the Town limits and a good industrial base and it is all gone but the bridge over the Scugog this is the sad part of Lindsay, there is another thing that is a treat in the Lindsay area and that is the Sky I am not sure what it is but the sky is very different from this Aurora.
Cheers Jytte

Hey Rick,
You got some great shots during the outing, I especially like the old staircase from Hilary House - the dark wood looks shiny and newish while everything else is in a bit of despair!
