Badlands by Film

Photographer on the Loose's picture

Here are 12 images chosen out of three rolls of 24 exposure 400 ISO film shot on two Zenit Es, I scanned then from the prints as I am not pleased with the negative scanner on the HP scanjet G 3110 I am pleased with the quality of the output from it in regards to the print scanner option, I am by the end of this exploration of film again going to have expended the sum equal to the purchase cost of a base level Rebel with a kit lens, Blacks is selling five rolls of 24 exposure for just under 50 $ with possessing and at that and the recent trip I took north of Capreol were I came home with 15.568 images I would need this many of those items, 129.73333333333333333333333333333 and that equates to a cash outlay of 6486.6666666666666666666666666667 $s so as You can see the cost of digital equipment is at that scale is free even if You carry 20.000$s worth on You person, hows that for some stark cipher?

Some Sharp Individuals may ask themselves were pray tell are some pictures from said outing well that is a resonable question and the short answer is I have looked at some of the images from that trip but have be taken aback by the amount and therefore have been unable to deal with it I have Stymied Myself in this regard and have not revisited it, someday!!!

Regards to All

Rick

Badlands

Rick,

"Local Valley Rift" and Panorama are very nice images.

Great job.

I won't be going back to film any time soon. I know some see it as a challenge and cool but after scanning all my slides and remembering all the costs I have no desire for it.

Cheers,

Doug

Hello Doug

The Company stayed a bit longer than You though did They? You have been MIA for a bit thats all!!!

Thanks Doug I am Pleased You took the time to Comment, as always comments are Good and good Comments are Great, You were lucky to have been that close to a Red Tail a arguably the most successful of the Hawks I see them everywhere but not that close!!! Bright Colours is Very Nice other than the Spelling Choice DOUG!!! why are they called Night Heron?

Claire ordered a few of those five in one round reflectors things and even though She did not attend the outing to the Badlands and I picked one up from Her, I tried it out in the Hall tract today I have yet to check out the result but am curious I will do that afer this and if any are ok I will post a few, it was a few tries to get it wound up again but We got it and one other thing about it it fits in the large inside pocket on the Tamrac Correspondents Vest that is a bonus, like I needed another thing to make the walks in the York forest take longer!!!

Good to Hear From You again Doug!!!

Cheers!!!

Hi Moon,

Hi Moon,

I don't see any repeated messages.  In any event, I believe there is a delete option under the message.  Please let me know if you don't see it as an option and I will check the permissions.

Hi Moon,

Hi Moon,

I changed the permissions a bit so hopefully now you'll be able to delete your messages.  Please try it when you get a chance and let me know if it works.

One thing you should be aware of:  You can only delete images that have not been responded to.  This is a built-in function to prevent people from deleting messages which would make the thread incomprehensible.

I love it!

I think its well worth spending money on film. (Just need to conserve the film I'm using I guess) I think the sky turned out dreamy and the colors are just marvelous. My favorites are Panorama, Roadside, and Emergency (I was admiring the pretty blue wall)  The other thing I'm thinking about is getting a plastic lense (Diana or Holga lense sold at Urban outfitters) that will create dreamy images somewhat like film cameras. They have adapter rings for both Nikon and Canon. I'm not sure how well it will work with DSLR. Probably I will only be able to use manual focus.

P.S. Would you mind sending me the pictures of me at Badland? I'd like to have a couple of them.

And you're right about the toads! Its my year of amphibians for sure. A new resident frog arrived in my garden pond about 3 weeks ago :D

Thanks,

Moon
