APLCC Meeting Reminder for April 27, 2017

Hi Everyone,

I sent this newsletter about a week ago but a couple of people said that they did not receive it.  If you can, please send me a quick email confirmation to let me know that you got this message.

Just a quick update on what's coming up.

The next APLCC meeting is scheduled for Thursday April 27 between 7-9pm in the Lebovic room of the Aurora Public Library.

EXPOSURE TRIANGLE

Since we didn't finish the hands-on part of the exposure triangle at the last meeting this is what we'll be focusing on in April.  So please bring your cameras and any props that you would like to photograph.  I will be providing props as well, but if there's something specific that you'd like to photograph please bring it along.  I'll set up stations around the room where people can go and experiment.

PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE MONTH

As well as the hands-on exposure triangle session I will do a brief presentation on a photographer.  I have a really interesting photographer in mind.   I think most people will find this photographer amusing, disturbing, and provocative.  I know I certainly did!  I'll keep who it is a surprise so that you'll get the full impact.  laugh

MONTHLY CHALLENGE

Given the fact that we're going to devote a good part of the meeting to the exposure triangle hands-on session I'm going to move the April Monthly Challenge to the May 25th meeting.  As you may or may not know the May meeting will be the final one before the break for the summer.  For this meeting we'll do two things:  the monthly challenge critique and for the last hour have a social. The social will allow us to interact in a less formal way, something that we rarely do.  I'll also bring some snacks to enhance the social atmosphere.  More info on that later.

This brings us to the topic for the Monthly Challenge for May.  The two options are:  On the Street or Home -- as mentioned at the last meeting your goal is to try your best to elicit some sort of an emotional response with your photo, either through the use of  lighting, composition, subject matter, unexpected angle or whatever.

Just so you know, the Monthly Challenge gallery is ready for your images so bring them on.  I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I will be sending you another email with more details about the April 27 meeting a couple of days before the meeting.

If you have any questions please email me at reelstories@rogers.com

Best,

Ronen
